The MLS Academy Physical Therapist assists the Major Physical Therapist of the MLS Academy in managing the Club’s daily sports medicine operations. This position will provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation strategies for Players’ medical problems.
The specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Managing Players’ medical care, including, but not limited to: first aid/emergency care, evaluation of injuries to the site, application of appropriate modalities, development of rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as carrying out rehabilitation and medical referrals.
Maintain a complete and up-to-date record of Players’ health and participation records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system provided by the League.
Order, maintain, and inventory clinical supplies and equipment
Keep the sports training room and clinical area safe, clean, and organized.
Assist the Club’s medical staff with regard to the health and safety of the Players.
Comply with all MLS medical policies and protocols
Comply with OSHA regulations on bloodborne pathogens.
Attend all activities, meetings and programs required by the League.
